Villefranche-de-Conflent citadel is curled in the heart of the Conflent Valley, in a magnificent limestone landscape dated from the Devonian age (400mA). Villefranche's karst is outstanding. A karst is a limestone landscape sculpted by water and composed of shaft, cave, lapiaz, underground river and springs.

The Canalette Cave is a beautiful exemple of the wonders that we can admire when caving in Villefranche-de Conflent, the caving hotspot in the Eastern Pyrenees.

Summing up more than a 100km of underground galeries, Villefranche karst is a true paradise for speleology !

Caving is a curious "outdoor activity" that matches sport and science. You will do some exercise while learning a lot (we hope!) about the underground world !

Grotte de Fuilla — Beginner caving in Fuilla-Canalettes cave in the Eastern Pyrenees

Beginner caving in Fuilla-Canalettes cave: horizontal caving in big galeries and huge chambers accessible from 6 years old . You are curious about the subterranean world, you want to learn about it's geologie, karstology, about it's animals : bats and insects. Yo like to take your time to observe. We will do an experience to look at total darkness and also ask to the group if they want to do some squeeze passages (not compulsory). Only one 4 legs passage on this route.

Athletic caving route "The Loop". We abseil down twice from the upper galerie to reach the lower galery. A mix of horizontal and vertical caving in a beautiful crystal-loaded landscape. You like to hike, see beautiful landscape and want to try abseiling. There are no squeeze passages. One passage on 4 is compulsory.
