Canyoning from 6 years old - Abseiling in Part 1

Located on the Canigou slopes, our canyoning route has been thought for 6 years and 7 years to enjoy it, but also for their brothers and sisters, parents and grand-parents ! The route is ideal for them because the river is not stressful, the stream is quiet, the forest is wild and calm and the parents can quickly have a foothold to help theirs kids out of the water !

Our "Canyon POUR LES MINIS" is to enjoy in family. The waterfall are adapted for the youngest but the teens and the folks will have their challenges too ! Who will dare jumping from 4m high ?

Canyoning from 6 years old - Slide after slide in a beautiful river

Description of our canyoning for 6 and 7 yers old

After a beautiful and fun 30 minutes hike, we reach the top of the river. Our canyon is split into 2 parts.

The first part is ideal to practice canyoning without pressure : all the pools can be walked around. Our pristine river goes through beautiful wood and, pool after pool, we go jumping, sliding and even practice an abseiling ! we can enjoy nature and observe all the river insects that fly around : butterflies, dragonfly, maybe a little nice snake and, if you're lucky enough, the beautiful and hard-to-see Rosalie des Alpes !

Canyoning from 6 years old : the "rocket-slide" in Part 2.

After this first part, the one who had enough jumping and sliding can exit. For the rest of the group, we usually walk to the Mini-Gorge of Taurinya: a short but breathtaking passage ! We get in the gorges by a 5m high abseil and slide down the rest of the canyoning !

Canyoning for 6. Between two families, kids make friends and cheer other kids up !

6 years old canyoning prerequisites

The participants must know how to swim. We don't expect the 6 and 7 to know how to swim perfectly, but they must like being in the water and not be afraid of having their head under water. Don't worry, with the wetsuit they float :)

When is it possible to do canyoning at 6 years old ?

Water is cold in the canyons. That's why I tka efamilies to live this experience with their small ones when days are warm. Our 6 years canyoning route is doable from june to september.

When you're 6, and feel big, you still need a little hand !

Warning : Canyoning for 6 years old 6 is specific !

Some establishments will accept kids from 6 years old but it doesn't meen they have a specific route for them . They will only take them to their regular family canyoning, which usually doesn't match six years old morphology, locomotion, cold resistance. They need a specific environnement to enjoy their canyoning experience! Furthermore, most of them won't bother getting your kid to abseil down, when it's possible to teach them if it's a suitable abseiling.
